![]() ![]() Five new books, that seem to centre around some of the characters we've already met. Owen's has a spin-off series called The Deadly Beauties Live On. We often read sentences like: "while the others were planning I went into the room" or "I stayed in bed and let them plan it". George (ePUB) from the link provided below and read this book on any device. Come to think of it, it's probably because Alyssa is in denial through most of the books. But I do like to hear of the plans, ideas and brainstorming characters have, which I wasn't clued in on in this trilogy. I know this is very much down to the fact, that they seem to hear about the problems just as they become unavoidable, which means it's go time. There's no lengthy or detailed plans made, no real anxiety of how they'll cope. All the solutions, answers, get out of jail free cards, keeps falling into their laps. What I did have a wee bit of a problem dealing with, and the reason the book is not getting five hearts, are the easiness of it all. I'm finding it really hard to go into details of the plot here, because most little things lead to the epic showdown that's been coming since book 1. But in her naivety Alyssa has let someone close to her cast a spell on her, which explains her wavering heart. A destiny she never considered is consuming her. She's judged them all - now they'll be the ones to judge her.Alyssa is no longer seeing the gray area - she's living in it. ![]() The anger and let down Alyssa has felt towards him no longer has a leg to stand on, and it's time to let go and move on. Secrets are spilled, lies are revealed, and dark destinies emerge. the Light and the Dark alike.īut before we can get to that part there's still a lot of twists, heartache and betrayal! Alyssa's world is turned upside down when she learns what really happened to her mother, and how she only split from Alyssa's father, to protect her. She's the stuff legends and nightmares are made of and finally, freaking finally, she's thriving on the powers she harness. To me that's very unattractive in a character.Īs a prophesied being Alyssa's powers are thought to be unparalleled. Admittedly, I didn't like her very much in the first 20-30% of the book, because it was like everything had to fit her, not the other way around. Though, not until she's certain she wants to. For a Light witch that's grown up being taught that things are black and white, she now more than ever has to embrace and deal with the grey areas of life! In this book Alyssa is not only coming into her powers, she's also embracing her destiny. It's one thing, one surprise, one twist after another - and I loved every single page of it!Īlyssa's powers and destiny can and will no longer be denied. Holy freaking moly, Batman! This book is so amazingly intense, there's like zero downtime. ![]()
